So I spent two and a half hours watching ESPN
and National Geographic in between ads
Not that I really understood what was going on
Don't even know what ESPN stands for
or TNT, for that matter
But as the saying goes it's a learning experience
and learning experiences are worthwhile
Besides
with bruised shoulders and knees and one hurting leg
love marks left by the hardwood floor in Aikido class
sitting and doing nothing - chill -
did seem irresistible
So I delved in and snugged into his seat
and got a little too comfortable
since I started to baby-talk like
the kind I use only with my eldest bro
when no one else is around and I am free
to just be vulnerable and still feel safe
fully assured that I'm still loved
Like a getaway from weekdays facade;
assertive and smart and strong
Chill
Some guys there did really cool dunks
Amazing what human bodies can do
The massive airplane project was successful
Time to chill now, but
Humanity - where are we heading?
Chill

Love Quotes
(A tribute to Humanity on Valentine's Day)
Jangan pernah menyanjung cinta bila tak mengerti maknanya cinta. - Melly Goeslaw, Hanya.
People say they "find" love, as if it were an object hidden by a rock. But love takes many forms, and it is never the same for any man and woman. What people find then is a certain love ... a grateful love, a deep but quiet love [and] above all else ... irreplaceable. - Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
In all famous love affairs the lovers have to struggle. - Max Detweiler in The Sound of Music musical.
God is hard to believe, ask all believers ... Love is hard to believe, ask all lovers. - Yann Martel, Life of Pi.
Love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive. - Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
Wahai pujangga cinta, biar membelai indah. Teladani kalbuku, jujurlah pada hatimu. Ada apa dengan Cinta? Perbedaan aku dan engkau biar menjadi bait dalam puisi cinta terindah. - Melly Goeslaw, Ada Apa dengan Cinta.
Nobody dies from the lack of sex. It's lack of love we die from. - Atsuo Inoue
Love is the best when you are alive. - Atsuo Inoue
Love does not have to end happily, because Love does not have to end. - Anonymous

Shreds of Glass
Her heart is shreds of glass
Beaten and crushed
Now she struggles to hang upon
Those sharp-edged shreds of Life
Dangling, above the City of Death
The Dead beneath lift their hands
Of shredded flesh and eternal bloods
Stench fuming, grasping upwards
To seize her and make her their own
The Devil hisses among their moans
Shreds of glass slash through her soul
And tears from her blinded eyes burn
On her melting flesh under the scorching sun
Fresh drops of blood trickle down her wounds
Dripping onto the jeering Dead below
She screams the scream of
Great Pain and Greater Fear
The citizens of the world hear none
They too, are dangling and falling
Into the City of Death
Beaten and crushed
Now she struggles to hang upon
Those sharp-edged shreds of Life
Dangling, above the City of Death
The Dead beneath lift their hands
Of shredded flesh and eternal bloods
Stench fuming, grasping upwards

I should be doing my marking on this sunny Sunday, while surrounded by those red bricks and tons of paperwork.. Right.. and in fact just because this is SUNDAY, given the fact that I'm already in my working closet, I've been doing less than important things other than marking: savoring jazz, surfing the net, and blogging.
As if anyone cares at all. No one, no really.

Passion
Two nights ago, I
scratched myself in my sleep
leaving a good 6” scar on my arm
(only 4” left today)
It was another dream of
he and I, in a heat
I had embraced him from behind
Kissed his back and pulled him close
Skin on skin
And my fingers, as if to avow he is mine
buried themselves into his abdominals
(lean and strong, tell you)
and pulled, leaving him
my love inscription there
…
Today, underneath my shirt
I wore a half-cup halter top
A bare minimum on my skin
Imagined his fingers
tracing my shoulders and down
along length of my arm, and
…

Mothers' Stories
Four Catholic mothers are chit-chatting in a café.
The first mother says to her three friends, “My son is a Priest. Whenever he walks into a room, everyone greets him ‘Father’”.
Not to be defeated, the second mother says, “My son is a Bishop. Whenever he walks into a room, everyone greets him ‘Blessed Bishop’”.
The third mother adds on, “My son is a Cardinal. Whenever he walks into a room, everyone greets him ‘Holy Cardinal’”.
The fourth mother remains silent.
Finally, no longer patient in waiting, the three mothers ask in chorus, “What about your son?”
The fourth mother replies, “My son is a successful young executive. He’s six feet tall.. has broad chest and muscled arms.. He's friendly.. very handsome, and always well-dressed. Everytime he walks into a room, all women sigh, ‘Oh my God…’”.

Upset
How dare you accuse me of establishing a new religion
Do you think I treat religions like, what, clothing lines?
So what if I don't agree with you on some issues
Would you immediately, impulsively,
call me a heretic, exclude me from the Family?
as if you know everything
Interesting, how you make those around you feel
Condemned
and at the same time saying
There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus
